Spring Shopping Haul …Topshop, Henry Holland, M&S & Forever 21 …

As the seasons begin to change, my shopping mindset does too. So, with the arrival of clear blue skies and bright sunshine…I’m thinking dreaming of spring and spring looks.

I can’t help feel cheated. After all, we’re now in spring and all we’ve had is a dose of snow and wintry temperatures. However, sales and sunshine has left me hopeful.

Hitting the shops two days running, I have been a woman on a mission. I wanted transitional basics, clothes I could wear when it gets slightly warmer and for the next few weeks. I got…transitional basics and lots of free coffee.

I *adore* Topshop’s Kristen jeans. High-waisted stretch goddesses. So much so, I’d stocked up on 2 pairs as soon as they’d hit the shelf. Problem is, in the meantime, I’ve lost weight and the smaller size 28 waist 30 leg has been elusive  to say the very least. Until today! Enter these black beauties…

Whilst in Topshop, I spotted a speckled jersey dress. I’m sure there’s probably a name for this fabric, however I don’t know it. It was £26 and short even on my teeny legs. Enter Internacionale and their amazing dupe! At £12 and a few inches longer, it’s the perfect alternative. I plan to layer it with jumpers and wear it all Sunday long.

Easter Sunday marked the end of my Lenten promise and I’m now free to carry on my carefree dress loving ways. So, I’ve done just that! During the Lenten period, the only dress to tempt me was this Henry Holland beauty.

It was reduced to £19 in the sale. It caught my eye as I quickly tried to shift past H! by Henry Holland. How could I say no? It’s a great length, can be worn in winter or summer and can be layered. Win win. Here’s a close up of the Peter Pan collar and pattern. I’m in love!

When in Warrington, I always like to pop into Gemini… Marks & Spencers. All I’ll say is 75% off underwear. I was a gonner. I have a huge love of pretty underwear, what girl doesn’t? Silk lingerie sets for £12.25, could you say no?

And not forgetting Forever 21! In the Trafford Centre last night, I managed to avoid buying dresses entirely. But the allure of polka dots and nautical styling pulled me in! As you can see in the picture, this cream polka dot blouse with a bow tie had me the instant I saw it. I wore it today and I loved it so much. Here’s me proving why I don’t do outfit of the day posts often. Uncomfortable much? Hella.

// What I’m wearing: Boots – Debenhams / Jeans – Topshop Kristen / Spotted blouse – Forever 21 / Leather jacket – Jane Norman / Bag – Cambridge Satchel Company / Uncomfortable smile – all mine //
All in all, a successful shopping trip. Looking back, should my spring shopping list have included florals and pastels? From a fashion point of view, probably. From a personal ‘style’ (arguable) point of view? Not at all. All the items I’ve bought today (and yesterday, oops!) are good basics which I will wear again and again!

Highlights of the day? Free coffee and luxury toast, mmm… thanks Starbucks, thanks Costa!

Have you hit the sales recently? What have you invested in? What are your favourite buys of the moment?

As always, much love,

Donna
