What I Wore :: The £8 Wonder Dress

I’m fed up of this so-called summer, what is this? Summer with a side of rain? I didn’t order this! It’s making me long for autumnal colours, dresses with tights and layered, chunky cardigans. The problem is, with this weather I never know what to wear. When I clapped eyes on this little dress here, I knew it would be my saviour. Okay, I’m exaggerating I know. By saviour, I mean the perfect ‘go to’ dress. Ideal for taking on holiday and for wearing when September arrives. Pretty sun dresses are all very well, erm… pretty, but there isn’t a great deal you can do with them. Apart from prance around.
Dress : Primark £8 // Belt : Primark £1 // Shoes : Accessorize // Cardigan : Primark // Bracelet : New Look // Bag : Cambridge Satchel Company //
We all know Primark sizes can be questionable at times, for this one, you’re going to need to go one size up. I’m wearing a size 12. But hey, size is just a label right? What I’ve lost in self-confidence, I’ve gained in the hem line. The dress is the perfect length. I’m conscious about my legs, so finding a dress just above the knee keeps me feeling comfortable and suits my petite proportions. For £8 it is an absolute bargain!

I’ve bought this dress for my upcoming summer holiday, a city break. However, I couldn’t resist trying the dress on for size when the boy and I decided to visit Manchester on Tuesday. It was the perfect dress for mooching about in Manchester’s Northern Quarter. We lunched, we strolled, we shopped. It was such a perfect day.

We were also lucky enough to catch an artistic collaboration between Australian artist Ghost Patrol and British artist/illustrator Matt Sewell, who were giving Hare Street a face lift. Did you see my previous post, Street Art in the Northern Quarter? Since then, their art has been featured on BBC Breakfast news and you can now spy our photographs on Matt Sewell’s website. You heard it here first!
