PASTURES NEW :: LEAVING TEACHING

PASTURES NEW :: LEAVING TEACHING

Whilst things have been looking a little quiet over on the blog recently, real life has taken over in a rather surreal way. After six years of teaching, Friday saw me leave a profession I love to seek pastures new. There’s a whole post to come about the reasons why I left the teaching profession, but it’s too soon to talk about it. Soon though, soon.

You may have noticed that I’ve been selling a lot of clothes over on Instagram (so far I think we’re up to 50 items sold) You see, I knew I was coming out of work and decided that a fresh start for my wardrobe was also in order. Do you ever keep hold of clothes because you’re too emotionally attached to them to let them go? That first date dress? The first pay check dress? Yep, me too! No more! If it doesn’t fit, it goes!

So, I’m pleased to say I’m now welcoming pretty dresses to my newly reformed wardrobe! Starting with Lindy Bop’s ‘Hetty’ dress. I’ve always loved a 50’s style dress, but hated the effort needed to alter them to the perfect length for my 5 foot 2 self. Imagine my joy when I discovered Lindy Bop stock petite? Although few styles are made in petite, Hetty is.

It didn’t take me long to choose Hetty. With the most beautiful shawl neckline and floral print, it was a match made in heaven. This Saturday felt like my first day of freedom, so what better excuse to put on a pretty dress and go walking in the sunshine? If only these fleeting days of sun would last!

It’s so good to be back to my normal self, I’ve really missed regular blogging and commenting on outfit posts. Without doubt, I’m looking forward to catching up on all of my favourite blogs and discovering new ones.
